The completed homes have many other features which add to its energy efficiency. Hydronic radiant floor heating creates a warm and welcoming environment. Most homes with baseboard or forced air heating lose a lot of energy through the air ducts. Hydronic floor heating uses tubes with heated water (as opposed to electric radiant), a much more cost effective and energy efficient method.

Furthermore, the radiant floor heating system and any other domestic water usage is heated using a 95% efficient on demand gas water heater.

The home generates power from its Solar City 3.0 kW solar panel system. This system enables each homeowner to generate clean and more affordable energy at a lower rate than current utility prices. Each home has a meter that continuously tracks the electricity produced. There are also web and mobile phone applications that can be used to monitor energy production.
